Amy Palma, Owner
You could say painting faces runs in Amy Palma’s DNA. As a little girl she watched in awe as her mother, a portrait artist, brought faces to life on canvas. (She descends from a long line of painters and artists.) Soon she began wielding a brush of her own, painting on faces instead. Amy sashayed into the fashion world as a style/beauty reporter, covering fashion photo shoots and events. After going behind the scenes at New York Fashion week she was hooked. “I was in awe watching the hair and makeup people backstage. I was always behind the scenes on photo shoots - interviewing the makeup artists and I realized I wanted to do it myself, not just report on it.” Amy has worked with celebrities and high profile clients including: Pit Bull, Kim Kardashian, President Obama, Christiane Amanpour, Vivica Fox, Matt Damon, Def Jam Artist Rick Ross (Hustlin’ Music Video), Jeb Bush, President Barack Obama, Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, Assistant State Attorney Stacey Honowitz, State Attorney Katherine Fernandez, CNN, FOX, NBC, HBO, AOL, The American Black Film Festival, Discovery Channel, and on national commercials and magazines including People Magazine and US Weekly. She opened her makeup artist company, South Beach Makeup Studio, in 2004 and has worked on more than 1000 weddings and performed thousands of makeup applications in the past 15 years.
Amy speaks Spanish fluently, is trained in special effects makeup and makeup for Ethnic/African-American, Indian and Asian skintones. Amy attended Cosmix School of Makeup Artistry and Bellasa Professional Institute and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from Florida International University.
Nicole, Makeup and Hair
It's no wonder the multi-talented Nicole always looks impeccable. The Makeup Artist, Hairstylist and Fashion Design School graduates' attention to detail shows not only in her client's flawless makeup and hair, but her perfectly arranged wardrobe and sophisticated appearance. The soft-spoken Jamaican native carries herself with the utmost poise and sophistication. Nicole is a graduate of Cosmix School of Makeup Artistry and Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale's Fashion Design Program with 10 years in the beauty business.
Janet, Hair
Janet is a licensed cosmetologist with over 20 years of experience in hair design. She is kind hearted, energetic, organized, professional and has strong work ethics. She is always willing to go the extra mile to make clients happy. She believes hair is an art. From soft curls, to up dos, stylish waves or just a plain blow dry, she always leaves clients with a smile. Janet always arrives early and ensures everyone feels comfortable and relaxed. In many instances she has saved the day by sewing dresses, fixing bouquets, assisting bridesmaids or just simply making everyone feel more relaxed when tensions rise. It is a special day and everyone should feel that special.
Charlene, Makeup
From weddings, pageants, commercials, photo shoots and other special events, this beautiful, soft-spoken Jamaican native is a whiz at airbrush makeup. She specializes in all skin tones, textures and types from ebony to ivory. Charlene has traveled throughout the US doing what she loves to do "Makeup Artistry". Though she focuses primarily on bridal makeup, she continues to be the exclusive makeup artist of the US Continental Pageant since 2005. She's also a mother to a beautiful daughter and a handsome young son. Charlene trained in multi-media makeup artistry at Cosmix, Fort Lauderdale in 2004 and obtained her Esthetician license through Kaizen Academy, Pembroke Pines in 2011. Maria, Hair
Venezuelan Hairstylist Maria was raised in New York and now resides in South Florida, and speaks Spanish fluently. Beauty and hair has always been her passion! She loves making people feel beautiful, especially on their special day. She is very creative and artistic which is one of the top reasons why she fell in love with this career. She's been a licensed cosmetologist for 18yrs now and started at the young age of 19yrs old. She is also very nurturing and patient (having a 12 yr old boy requires that)! She takes pride in making sure people feel comfortable and can openly communicate with her what look they want her to accomplish. She loves being part of such a special occasion and also loves knowing she helped make their special day a beautiful one!
Marlene, Makeup
Marlene is an accomplished Miami based Makeup Artist with over 20 years experience in various areas of the Makeup industry. Her love for Makeup started in 1998, while acquiring a degree in fashion design at the International Fine Arts College. She developed extensive skills by shadowing many master artists and has had the wonderful opportunity to work with many amazing photographers, actors, models, on air talent and brides as well as advertising campaigns, Photo Shoots, Fashion Shows, Video Shoots, Print work, Weddings and so much more. Marlene takes great pride in sharing her tips, tricks and expertise with her clients and peers. She facilitates makeup classes and individual makeup lessons for those that are interested in learning how to enhance their natural beauty and always look their best.
